I have been coming to see Kim for years. As someone who is 51, hemming is a must for my pants and dresses. Recently, I wanted a custom made o di, a traditional Vietnamese dress. Kim thoughtfully made my dress. After the initial fitting, she expertly made adjustments. It is perfect! Ive worn it at University functions, presentations and cultural events. Kim is a knowledgeable tailor, and, truth be told, deserves 100 stars .

Kim has helped me so much over the past few months leading up to my wedding. My husband and I stopped by every week to drop off a new clothing item to have altered. Our wedding was disco theme so the outfits were not simple! She did a wonderful job altering my wedding gown which requires a lot since Im petite. She was thoughtful about making the beading detail consistent for bustling and when she altered the dress. She did a great job altering my husbands tux which was covered in sequins which we know is difficult to work with. We brought fabric from Vietnam and she made my husband a traditional o Di from scratch which replicated mine well (scalloped collar) and even made special buttons for his traditional outfit. I highly recommend Kim for alterations whether just casual clothes or formal events.

She is a little bit more expensive than others but the price is worth it. her talent and ability to deliver the perfect fit and alteration are definitely worth her price. So glad I went to her. She rocks.

She extended the sleeves and changed the shape of the collar on my Cinzia Rocca to make it more modern, and most recently she extended the band on a bikini top by borrowing fabric from the straps so you cant even tell it was altered. You can tell when someone loves what they do, and that is certainly the case here. Recommend for any tailoring needs! She also sells handmade masks that are better quality than any Ive seen on the market and has the packs of filters for sale.

Every person working here is wonderful. They are all incredibly polite and helpful. They really listen to what you want. I had my wedding dress altered and bustled here. They also cleaned it for me. It was worth every single penny I spent. Kim Tailor & Cleaners does a fantastic job. What was even a bigger surprise was the sewing classes she provides. In my first of 3 two hour sessions I left so much more comfortable doing simple tasks myself. Aside from her alterations & dry cleaning, I highly recommend her classes.

Kim is an experienced tailor with her own shop off of Howard. She is very courteous and willing to work with you in regard to requests and time restraints. Her pricing is fair also.

I actually found her on a last minute tailor search. I was heading out of town the next day and needed to have a suit tailored. She shorten my suit pants and modified my jackets (shorten the cuffs, removed shoulder pads, and took in the jackets) all within the day. This was a last minute request but she did a great and fast job. I ended up having all my items ready by the end of the day.

In addition to this, she does a lot of custom work including custom suits and traditional Vietnamese gowns. Some of her beautiful work is on display in her shop.

She also offers sewing classes, which I believe are 3 sessions for about $200.

From my experience, her typical prices:
-Shorten pant or jacket cuffs: $12
-Removing shoulder pads: $10
-Tailoring jacket: $25 (around this price).

Overall, a great experience and will definitely come back again.
